Please stop using plastic bags for Green Environment

Plastic bags are one of the most recognizable for the modern culture. In the recent years since the introduction the first plastic were introduced in US for the purpose of baggies for bread, sandwiches and fruits.

Recently in Delhi High Court tightened norms regulating use and recycling of plastic bags in the capital to check their indiscriminate use as they pose a serious health and pollute the environment. This ban is applicable for City main markets and Local shopping centers. The use of plastic is already banned in hotels, hospitals and malls.

Mumbai city was flooded in the past year due to use of plastic bags especially thinner variety. The ban has not really made move away from plastic, they have moved to the thicker variety. the result is that prices of all plastic raw materials have gone about 15-20 percent over the past few months,

Renewable Energy

Renewable energy is energy generated from nature resources such as sunlight, water, wind. This energy is called as green power because it doesn't pollute the nature while usage nor producing. The fossil fuels supplies are going to perish people are realizing now to maintain those fossil fuels for their next generation.

New initiatives aimed at encouraging people to personally to use greener technologies and to limit the amount of energy they use in their properties. United States are relying on domestic sources of energy, which will eventually eliminate their need for oil or slow the growth of their consumption.

  • Wind Energy - Produced by using wind power used to run the wind turbines.

  • Solar Energy - Produced by collecting energy from the sunlight using photovoltaic solar cells.

  • Water Power - Energy in the water present in the form of kinetic energy is converted using mechanical equipment.

  • Bio Fuel - Bio diesel or vegetable oil are known as ethanol fuel can be used in diesel vehicles.

  • Bio Gas - Produced from current waste streams such aas paper production, sugar production, animal waste and sewage.

Biofuel & Biodiesel

Bio fuel can be broadly defined as solid, liquid, or gas fuel derived from recently dead biological material. This distinguishes it from fossil fuels, which are derived from long dead biological material. Bio fuel can be theoretically produced from any carbon source, though the most common by far is photosynthesis plants. various plants and plant derived materials are used for bio fuels manufacture. Bio fuels are used globally, most commonly to power vehicles and cooking stoves. Bio fuel industries are expanding in Europe, Asia and the America.

Bio fuels offer the possibility of producing energy without a net increase of carbon into the atmosphere, because the plants used in to produce the fuel have removed CO2 from the atmosphere, unlike fossil fuels which return carbon which was stored beneath the surface for millions of years into the air. Therefore, bio fuels is in theory more nearly carbon neutral and less likely to increase atmosphere concentrations of greenhouse gases.

There are two common strategies of producing Bio fuels. One is to grow crops high in sugar or starch and then use yeast fermentation to produce ethyl alcohol. The second is to grow plants that contain high amounts of vegetable oils such as oil palm, soybean , algae. When these oils are heated their viscosity is reduced, and they can be burned directly in a diesel engine, or they can be chemically processed to produce fuels such as bio fuel.

Wind Power

Wind Energy is one more alternative for production of power. Wind is converted by using mechanical turbine consisting of blades which turn when wind is available and its saved.

Wind is available abundant supply blowing around in every single second somewhere in the world. The popularity of wind mills is becoming the main stream for governments and individuals. Wind power creation is becoming increasingly important.

Wind power is becoming important due to conventional electricity cannot keep the demand for it. The non renewable sources are going to deplete by few years there should be another alternative for power creating like wind power, solar, water.

Advantages of Wind Power

Wind power consumes no fuel and doesn't harm the nature by emitting harmful gases and causing global warming or damage our water ways. It is totally renewable which never gets run out. Creating a wind mill with low cost which runs out the year without any maintenance.

Creating wind turbine make your sufficient for utilization at your home without the usage of electric boards.

Coming to environment danger caused to birds and other birds was concerned in some locations, which was negligible before the activities done by human. Fossil fuel kills the bird habitat by 20% when compared to wind mills.

Solar Energy System Design

Solar energy is one source available in nature readily. The largest solar electric generating plant in ht e world in the place Kramer Junction in California is producing 354 mega watts of electricity. The solar collectors converts sunlight to heat a heat transfer fluid to a high temperature. The hot heat transfer fluid is then used to generate steam that drives the power conversion subsystem, producing electricity. Thermal energy storage provides heat for operation during periods without adequate sunshine.

Using photovoltaic cells also we can generate electricity magic silvers of silicon that converts the solar energy falling on them directly into electricity.

Knowledge of the quantity of solar energy available at a specific location is of prime importance for the design of any solar energy system. The sun radiation may vary from place to place which can cause wide variations in available isolation on the earth's surface.

Turbine Placement

Selection of site for turbine placement is critical. Aside from availability of wind itself include the availability of transmission lines, value of energy to be produced, cost of land acquisition, land use consideration and environment impact of construction and operations. Off-shore locations cost higher for construction and placement.

Power of wind can be calculated by using wind power density. A map with the distribution of wind power density must be identified first.

Turbines will typically be placed in rows perpendicular to the prevailing wind direction. Space provided between a row of turbines must be two to four times the diameter of the rotor if the wind blows perpendicular to the row almost all the time. If the wind speed strikes a second turbine before the wind speed has been restored from striking an earlier turbine, the energy production from the second turbine will be decreased relative to the unshielded production. The amount of decrease is a function of wind shear, the turbulence in the wind, the turbulence added by the turbines and the terrain. This can easily be in the range of five to ten percent for downwind spacings of around ten rotor diameters. Spacing the turbines further apart will produce more power, but at the expense of more land, more roads and more electrical wire.

Wind Power Usage

By 2010 the World Wind Energy Association expects 160GW of capacity to be installed worldwide.

Denmark generates one fifth of its electricity with wind turbines which is highest of any country.
Their commitment is to produce half of the country power by wind.

United States has added more wind energy to its grid than any other country. Texas is the leading wind power state in US and continue to extend its lead.

China is on the way building up 1000MW wind farm by the end of 2020 which targets 30,000 MW from renewable energy. The growth of china renewable energy is growing faster than recently.

India was recently ranked 5th in the world total power capacity. India has several wind farms in its vivinity and is one of the major wind energy harnessing centers.

Mexico recently opened La Venta II wind power project as an important step in reducing mexico's consumption of fossil fuels. The 88 MW project is the first of its kind in mexico.

Brazil with a wind potential of 143GW.

South Africa has a proposed station on the west coast north of the Olifants River mouth near the town of Koekenaap, east of vredendal in the Western Cape province.

France has announced a target of 12.500MW installed by 2010

Canada experienced rapid growth of wind capacity 137 MW to 1.451MW showing annual growth rate of 38%.

Small Scale Wind Power

Small Scale Wind Turbine charges a 12V battery to run 12 V appliances.

Small Scale Wind Power is the name given to wind generation systems with the capacity to produce up to 50 kW of electrical power. Individuals may purchase these systems to reduce or eliminate their dependence on grid electricity for economic or other reasons. Equipment such as parking meters or wireless internet gateways may be powered by a wind turbine that charges a small battery, replacing the need for a connection to the power grid.

Generation from renewable resources is increasing as a consequence of the increased awareness of climate change. The electronic interface required to connect renewable generation units climate change. The electronic Interface required to connect renewable generation units with the utility system can include additional function, such as the active filtering to enhance the power quality.

Hydro Power Modern Usage

Hydro power is the power derived from the energy or force of moving water. Which are used for useful purpose. Hydro power is being used since hundreds of years for production of electricity.

There are many form of producing water power. Mainly they work on mechanical producing electricity.

Waterwheels used since hundreds of years to power mills and machinery.

Hydroelectricity usually referring to hydroelectric dams.

Dam less hydro used from the stream of rivers, streams and oceans.

Tidal Power captured from energy of the tides in horizontal direction.

Hydroelectric power is less expensive compared to other electric generating sources like fossil fuels or nuclear energy. The advantages of hydroelectric dams is their ability to handle all climate changes such as when demand increases.

Solar Energy

Solar Energy is defined as a energy obtained from the radiant light and heat from the sun. Summer is the best season for producing electricity when compared to other seasons. The power developed by this method is by Photovoltaics and heat engines.

Solar techniques are passive solar and active solar on the way of converting, capturing. Passive solar uses the solar thermal collector and photovoltaic panels with mechanical or electrical instruments to convert the sunlight into useful output.

Solar is the most
